Unique places in the Yucatan region
When you’re looking for interesting places to visit, there are many locations that you choose. For those who like water, sand beach, going to Mexico is a good option, but here is much more than what meets the eye. The truth is that underwater you can see unique places called “Cenotes”located in the Yucatan region.
I recommend you visit a cenote on your next trip because they are wonderful natural sites which are below ground, making a whole system of caves and rivers that we see with the naked eye. There are up to 120 meters below ground and are often reached high diving to deep sea.
The cenotes are formed in the course of several million years as a result of collapsing rocks that create space in the water and caves. In ancient times where the Maya were looking for water when supplies ran out on the surface where they lived. Also believed they were the gates to the underworld.
Now they are places where you can have so much fun researching what’s underneath. If you go to the Yucatan area where you can get tours take you to several of these, ones that are to be reached on foot and others are swimming. They can see spectacular rock formations and bio systems totally different from those you see on the surface.
This type of travel is recommended for those who do not get tired of swimming or walking to and from these destinations, and really are interested in a unique experience, full of natural phenomena with much history. If this type of person are you, then do not waste more time and visit one in this area or elsewhere in the world.
