The Black Pearl is one of the three luxury apartments at Baan Mahasajahn.

Located at the northern tip of Phuket Island, at Ban Mai Khao on Mai Khao beach only 15mins south of Sarasin Bridge, that connects the island to the mainland

Baan Mahasajahn (it's Thai for Marvellous Mansion) is alone by a long stretch of sandy beach that is a part of Sirinat Marine National Park. The beach is known to be visited by nesting turtles.

But it's also just 10 mins north of the Phuket International Airport with its community of local shops and restaurants, and 10 mins south of The Marriott Hotel with it's delicious delicatessen and fine restaurants. Sala Resort and Spa, just past The Marriott, has a great restaurant and chill-out bar by the beach. Mission Hills Golf and Country Club is also just 10 mins away.

A rent a car would be handy if staying at The Black Pearl for more than a few days. We can recommend a very friendly, convenient, English speaking car rental: Phuket One. Otherwise we can arrange for airport transfers.

Catering for you at The Black Pearl

Kn. Kiew (pronounced; kee-yow) , our live-in caretaker is an excellent Thai cook.
If you would like her to cater for your lunch, she needs to know in the morning by 10:00am,
And for dinner catering she needs to know by 2:00pm.

Kn. Kiew gets groceries for your meals from fresh markets that are close by.
She doesn't speak English, so please use the menus attached that are written in Thai and English and she will know what you like to eat.

Please note: Catering is not included in The Black Pearl rates. Please provide THB 1,000 for your grocery shopping to Kn. Kiew and she will return change to you. Her catering service is very economical. She does not charge anything for the service so please give her a tip for her cooking services at the end of your stay.

The Black Pearl Kitchen

The Black Pearl Kitchen has everything you need for self catering:

Electric oven, gas and electric hotplates,

all the pots and pans you could want to use,

all the dishes, plates, bowls you could want to eat off,

all the glasses you could drink out of and all the knives, forks, spoons and servers you could stick in your mouth.

A toaster, coffee maker, microwave and cold drinking water machine are here for your use.

Although a housekeeper lives in her own apartment downstairs, and does regular cleaning, there is a dishwasher and laundry machines if you want to be independent.

The Marriott Hotel is 10 mins. north. They have a great little grocery store with a good supply of ingredients. The Housekeeper can by fresh meat, fruit and vegetables for you at local markets.

In town are a few choices for shopping, including Tops Supermarket at Central shopping Mall and TescoLotus (for everything familiar from any supermarket in the world), but there are also local markets very close by for fresh local produce.

The housekeeper is a fantastic Thai cook and will also help out here, if requested, to. With a few hours warning she can cook for a small party.

Indoor dining if the weather turns nasty or outdoors is equally comfortable.

The BBQ and party area is also very handy for outdoor cooking.

The BBQ can be fired up for you at your request.

But there are so many good seafood retaurants around, if you feel like eating out; explore what's on offer at nearby, beachside cafes or hotels.
